Unlikely is a transdisciplinary journal, which aims to open unexpected spaces for artistic exchange and scholarly conversations across mediums, disciplines and continents. An experiment in form, Unlikely engages its audience and contributors in a two-stage process of live event, presenting creative practitioners’ works, followed by peer-reviewed electronic publication. The journal will be launched in early 2014.

Anthony Magen, Ben Byrne and Dale Gorfinkel as Carousel
A revolving combination of sound/visual artists.
The work is called Sense Humus. It is not film, not drama, not music. Perhaps it is closer to a plant.

Ian Andrews, Ruark Lewis, Eric Bridgeman
This work examines the myth of the 'wild man' or feral human, functioning as both missing link and fantasised other.

Helen Addison-Smith
Underground mutton is a work is based on her research of the famous Tooborac Rabbit Ramble and subsequent rabbit cook off. This is a performance by the artist wearing a bunny suit made from the skins of feral rabbits.

Hester Joyce
Taking Over the Whole Damn Road looks at representations of giraffes from colonial/indigenous/ travel/literature and art. This is part of a bigger project about personal narratives and place.

Renuka Rajiv and Gonzalo Ceballos
LOOK, THIS IS MY FRIEND is a work that is colourful, layered and cheap. It combines elements of narrative, aimlessness and abstraction. It’s a visual essaying on collective thinking and communal living.

Nebahat Erpolat
Discursive Moments of the Feral is an interdisciplinary live art performance work that encompasses object study, performance art and dance movement. This work challenges narratives of 'feral' by presenting the complexities and multiplicities that engenders the so called 'wild'.

Nick Moore
In the built environment, the only true feral is the human gone wild. In this film, edited from other films, ads and music videos, Melbourne is the cinematic backdrop for unlikely joyous, mischievous, invisible, unavoidable and plainly horrific moments.

Silvana Iannello
Edible weed soup, as a performance piece, utilises practical knowledge of an Italian upbringing in Australia in conjunction with concerns for environmental protection and sustainability.
